Cuando pensamos en una celebración de aniversario, se nos vienen a la mente cenas con velas y música de fondo. Y aunque ese plan es muy romántico, esta vez quisimos hacer algo diferente con mi pareja para celebrar nuestros cuatro años de novios: nos fuimos al amazonas.

Tres días alejados del mundo y sin señal en los teléfonos. Siempre la intención es desconectarnos, aunque yo me desespere a los diez minutos por no poder subir fotos a mis redes sociales. Así es siempre en cada viaje, pero vale la pena salir de nuestra zona de comodidad a ver cómo nos va.

Luego de dos horas de vuelo subimos a una lancha por otra hora para llegar al hotel. La verdad, pensé que sería peor, pero fue un viaje tranquilo que permitió ver la majestuosidad del rio Amazonas y darnos cuenta de la magia que envuelve este lugar. Y además entender que es el medio de transporte para todos los que viven acá y para los turistas. En la ciudad piensas en comprar carros o motos, pero aquí, tu corazón palpita por los motores fuera de borda.

Cada día nos bañábamos en protector solar y repelente para mosquitos y salíamos a la aventura con el sol en la cabeza desde la mañana hasta bien entrada la tarde. Sudábamos como deportistas de alto rendimiento incluso a la sombra, pero el sacrificio nos permitió ver micos y alimentarlos; ver comunidades indígenas que aun conservan sus tradiciones intactas y ver a los delfines rosados que son únicos y sólo pueden verse en el amazonas colombiano.

Incluso hubo tiempo para compras. Mientras en otros viajes compras zapatos y perfumes, en este viaje era imperdible – para mí – comprar sabiduría ancestral. Así que regresé a casa con botellas llenas de raíces y cortezas de árbol para tratar el asma y las alergias.

Antes de regresar y abandonar nuestro amanecer lleno de sonidos de la naturaleza, cruzamos a Tabatinga (Brasil) que está separada de Leticia (Colombia) por una sola calle. Compramos chocolates, mermeladas de frutas exóticas y tomamos muchas caipiriñas (a modo de investigación, ¡por supuesto!), porque es un coctel muy refrescante para el calor abrasador de esta población.

Toda la experiencia fue enriquecedora, y no sé si la repetiría, pero si recomiendo que la vivan al menos una vez en la vida. El aire es diferente y el silencio de la selva permite escuchar los animales – incluso los que no conocemos. La falta de internet hace que te concentres en lo importante: conocer, saborear, besar, escuchar, VIVIR.

Fue un buen aniversario, y les agradezco haberme permitido compartirlo con ustedes. Espero verlos pronto.

Hello everyone.

When we think of an anniversary celebration, dinners come to mind with candles and music in the background. And although that plan is very romantic, this time we wanted to do something different with my boyfriend to celebrate our four anniversary: we went to the Amazon.

Three days away from the world and without a signal on the phones. Always the intention is to disconnect us, although I despaired after ten minutes for not being able to upload photos to my social networks. This is always the case in each trip, but it is worth leaving our comfort zone to see how it goes.

After two hours of flight we board a boat for another hour to get to the hotel. The truth, I thought it would be worse, but it was a quiet trip that allowed us to see the majesty of the Amazon River and to realize the magic that surrounds this place. And also to understand that it is the transportation for all those who live here and for tourists. In the city you think of buying cars or motorcycles, but here, your heart beats for outboard motors.

Every day we bathed in sunscreen and mosquito repellent and went on an adventure with the sun on our heads from morning until late afternoon. We sweated like high performance athletes, but the sacrifice allowed us to see monkeys and feed them; see indigenous communities that still preserve their traditions intact and see pink dolphins that are unique and can only be seen in the Colombian Amazon.

There was even time for shopping. While on other trips you buy shoes and perfumes, on this trip it was a must – for me – to buy ancestral wisdom. So I came back home with bottles full of roots and tree barks to treat asthma and allergies.

Before returning and leaving our bedroom full of sounds of nature, we crossed to Tabatinga (Brazil) that is separated from Leticia (Colombia) by a single street. We bought chocolates, exotic fruit jams and took many caipirinhas (for research, of course!), Because it is a very refreshing cocktail for the scorching heat of this population.

The whole experience was wonderful, and I do not know if I would repeat it, but I do recommend that you live it at least once in your life. The air is different and the silence of the jungle allows to listen animals – even those we do not know. The lack of internet makes you concentrate on what is important: to know, to taste, to kiss, to listen, to LIVE.

It was a good anniversary, and I thank you for allowing me to share it with you. I hope to see you soon.

Este fin de semana nuevamente es festivo y nos entran unas ganas de salir a conocer el mundo y llenarnos de experiencias. Es por eso que aprovecho el espíritu viajero para recordar uno de los sitios más llenos de flow que haya visitado: Wynwood.

Un barrio en ascenso que presta sus muros a aspirantes a pintores, grafiteros y creativos ubicado a pocos minutos del centro de Miami, y que tiene en Wynwood Walls un lienzo en blanco para ser intervenido por artistas famosos de todo el mundo.

En la década de 1970, Wynwood era una zona de almacenes antiguos hasta que a principios de la década del 2000, el empresario Tony Goldman vio su potencial y convirtió el barrio en quiebra en un oasis cultural.

Dentro, hay cafés para comer algo mientras haces el recorrido y una tienda para comprar recuerdos, libros y guías de arte callejero. El ingreso a Wynwood Walls es gratuito y pueden encontrar información de horarios y eventos especiales en http://www.thewynwoodwalls.com/ Vale la pena y puede dedicarle medio día de su estadía.

Por último, por favor no cometan mi error y vistan ropa muy fresca porque el calor es abrasador. Nada de jeans ni telas gruesas. Es mejor optar por camisetas de algodón, shorts o vestidos veraniegos para que no sufran con la temperatura.

Hello everyone.

This weekend is holiday again and we want to gou out to know the world and fill ourselves with experiences. That is why I take advantage of the traveling spirit to remember one of the most cool places I have visited: Wynwood.

A rising neighborhood that lends its walls to aspiring painters, graffiti artists and creatives located a few minutes from downtown of Miami, and has a blank canvas in Wynwood Walls to be intervened by famous artists from around the world.

In the 1970s, Wynwood was an area of old warehouses until in the early 2000s, businessman Tony Goldman saw its potential and turned the neighborhood into a cultural oasis.

Inside, there are cafes to eat something while you do the tour and a store to buy souvenirs, books and street art guides. The entrance to Wynwood Walls is free and you can find information about schedules and special events at http://www.thewynwoodwalls.com/ . It is worth it and you can spend half a day of your stay.

Finally, please do not make my mistake and wear very cool clothes because the heat is scorching. No jeans or thick fabrics. It is better to wear cotton shirts, shorts or summer dresses so you do not suffer with the temperature.

Los días fríos han vuelto – aunque en mi impresión nunca se han ido – con mañanas frías y lluviosas, tardes un poco soleadas, pero con viento helado y noches con sensación térmica muy baja.

A veces es difícil vestirnos en la mañana porque quisiéramos salir con todo el clóset encima o con una cobija muy gruesa, pero no es la solución con más estilo.

En estos días de bajas temperaturas podemos elegir vestir en capas tratando de cubrir cada parte del cuerpo con varias piezas que se complementen entre sí y que aporten abrigo empezando de adentro hacia afuera: primero, medias veladas gruesas pero suaves y elegantes, y camiseta interior de algodón. Luego, una falda larga – si, en invierno también se puede usar faldas – con forro interno, camisa manga larga y con cuello alto. Finalizando con un blazer grueso con un lindo diseño y algo de color como éste de la marca Desigual cuyas prendas tienen mucho estampado y diseños vibrantes.

Podrías agregar una linda bufanda y unos guantes. Pero no más prendas, no hay que exagerar – sobre todo porque tampoco está nevando. Unos toques de color en el bolso, una linda sonrisa y estamos listas para comernos el – por ahora – frío mundo.

Hello everyone.

Cold days are back – although in my impression they have never gone – with rainy mornings, a bit sunny in the afternoons, but with icy wind and very cold nights.

It is hard to think what to wear in the morning because we want to go out with the entire closet over or with a very big blanket, but it is not the stylish solution.

In these days of low temperatures can choose dress with layered trying to cover every part of the body with several pieces that complement each other and that provide comfort, starting from the inside out: first, thick but soft and elegant tights and cotton undershirt. Then, a long skirt – yes, in winter we can also wear skirts – and a shirt. Finally, a blazer thick with a nice design and some of color as this from Desigual brand, whose have much stamping and vibrant designs.

You could add a cute scarf and gloves. But no more items, should not exaggerate – especially since it is not snowing. A few splashes of color in the bag, a big smile and we are ready to eat the – for now – cold world.

Siempre nos dicen que las rayas horizontales están prohibidas porque nos hacen ver mas gruesos de los que somos, por eso quiero contarles a quienes les gusta el look marinero por ejemplo, que esta premisa no es tan cierta.

Podemos usar este estampado siempre y cuando sigamos un truco: ¡que las líneas sean delgadas y no estén muy separadas! Así logramos una figura estilizada.

Cuando vi este vestido me gustaron los colores, pero me preocupó la posición de las líneas, pensando que exagerarían mis curvas. Sin embargo, no son gruesas ni están muy separadas, cumpliendo con el requisito que les conté.

Así que me lo medí, lo amé y es uno de mis vestidos favoritos, porque me hace recibir halagos de las personas cercanas a mí.

Espero que este post los anime a usar las olvidadas líneas horizontales y a adaptar la ropa que les gusta a su cuerpo, nunca al revés.

Hello everyone.

They always tell us that horizontal stripes are forbidden because they make us look thicker than we are, so I want to tell those who like the sailor style for example, that this premise is not so true.

We can use the horizontal stripes as long as we follow a trick: that the stripes are thin and not separated. Thus we achieve a stylized figure.

When I saw this dress I liked the color, but I was worried about the position of the stripes, thinking that they would exagerate my curves. However, the stripes are not thick nor are they far apart, fulfilling the requirement I told you.

So I loved it and it is one of my favorite dresses, because it makes me receive compliments from people close to me.

I hope this post encourages you to use the forgotten horizontal stripes and adapt the clothes to your body, never the other way.

El día de hoy mi pareja y yo cumplimos cuatro años de estar juntos. La fecha la escogimos juntos porque el día original que empezamos a salir nos recordaba fechas especiales que compartíamos con nuestras respectivas parejas anteriores.

Durante este tiempo hemos compartido momentos felices, hemos aprendido juntos, hemos viajado, reído y llorado. Nos hemos cuidado enfermedades y curado heridas en el corazón. Nos hemos amado y hemos crecido como pareja.

Este post es un sencillo homenaje a un hombre que me acompaña a ser feliz con el amor tranquilo que siempre quise.

Today, I celebrate with my boyfriend four years of being together. We chose the date together, because the original day that we started to date out reminded us of special dates we shared with our previous couples.

During this time, we have shared happy moments, we have learned together, we have traveled, laughed and cried. We have taken care of diseases and healed wounds in the heart. We have loved each other, and we have grown as a couple.

This post is a simple tribute to a man who accompanies me to be happy with the kind of love I always wanted.

Se acerca el buen tiempo y con los puentes abundan las oportunidades para escaparse un fin de semana a descansar y escapar de la lluvia capitalina.

Lo primero que muchos ponen en sus morrales de viaje es un jean y camisetas, pero yo soy mas de vestidos. Se enrollan y ocupan poco espacio, no se arrugan, son frescos y permiten un cárdigan si baja la temperatura.

Estas fotos fueron tomadas en un día soleado durante unos días festivos cerca a Bogotá, con un vestido de rayas que me estiliza y con un lazo que destaca mi cintura y que queda muy bien con estos tennis floreados que escogí para caminar y turistear.

Insisto, para mí los vestidos vaporosos -largos o cortos- son una mejor opción que el jean, porque no se pegan a la piel, no acaloran ni absorben los rayos del sol. Puedes usarlo con sandalias o tennis, y con un cambio de accesorios estás lista para la noche.

Ya terminó en Colombia este fin de semana festivo, pero vienen más, y en otras regiones del mundo disfrutan del verano, así que espero que incluyan esta prenda en sus próximos destinos.

Hello everyone.

Good weather and holidays are coming, and we have a lot of opportunities to escape for a weekend to rest and get away from the rain.

I know you want to include a pair of jeans and some T-shirts in your travel backpacks, but I am a dresses lover. They occupy a little space, do not wrinkle, are fresh and allow a cardigan If the temperature drops.

These photos were taken on a sunny day during a few holidays near to Bogota. I was wearing a striped dress that stylized me and highlighted my waist, and it looks great with these flowered sneackers that I chose to walk.

I insist, for me the fresh dresses -long or short- are a better option than the jean, because they do not stick to the skin and you can use it with sandals or sneackers, and with a change of accessories you are ready for the night.

This holiday weekend is already ended in Colombia, but it comes more, and in other regions of the world is summer, so I hope you include this garment in their next destinations.
